Arts Letters & Numbers presented Communal Dinner – Nomadic, a group exhibition on view at ALN's Main Gallery from August 16 to October 16, 2026. Taking the communal dinner as its central image, the exhibition brought together 18 artists and collectives from China, Europe, and the United States, working across painting, sculpture, ceramics, digital art, paper installation, and interactive media — inviting audiences to gather around one table and sample artistic expressions from across time zones and cultures.
The exhibition's concept poster took the form of a crossword puzzle — "not a playable crossword puzzle, but a real-life exhibition poster," as the team noted. Over two months, the metaphor proved itself: artists from different backgrounds interlocked like entries in a grid, connecting and completing one another within a shared space. The "communal dinner" thus became both a way of seeing and a way of being together — here, art is not an object to be observed, but a daily practice to be shared.

Paria Shahverdi《新的一天》(نوروز – A New Day)2026
An interactive sculptural book of twelve wooden pages. As viewers turn the pages, the circular structure shifts stones in water, sending ripples outward — reading becomes a physical experience, linking the passage of time with memory, place, and the possibility of beginning anew.

Paria Shahverdi《
Nils Folke Anderson《Umbra》2022
A steel-structure work by the American abstract sculptor, driven by his concept of "reciprocal links" — light, material, form, and space in ceaseless dialogue, "never at rest."

Nils Folke Anderson《Umbra》
Billy Chen 陈瀚琮《鱼知道》(The Fish Prophet)2026
A paper tuna sculpture, about 1.8 meters long, suspended above the gallery. Drawing on the Chinese fable of the fish that leaps the dragon gate, the artist asks: can we, too, leap out of the flood of digital imagery and ascend to a higher form of being?

Billy Chen《
Hanna Greenfield《
Digital still lifes built by AI tools from three-dimensional scanning archives, exploring the uncanny and the reconstitution of context — part of a research project bringing 3D scanning into the art classroom.

Hanna Greenfield《
Adrian Lee《The Ecclesiocracy》2026
Oil, acrylic, and collage on panel. Interweaving classical painting methodologies with contemporary practices across two-dimensional media, the artist drafts digital collages, then draws and re-renders them, building allegorical imagery layer by layer through rhythm, pattern, and compositional balance.

Adrian Lee《The Ecclesiocracy》
Ketong Xing《几何织物》(The Fabric of Geometry)2025
A parametric digital installation rooted in the aesthetics of the Eastern tea ceremony and wabi-sabi, meditating on soft geometry and future fabrication within the tension of light, shadow, and material.
(The Rainbow of Renewal)2025
An ecological memorial digital work and winner of the 2026 Red Dot Award: Design Concept, envisioning a circular mist installation, 200 meters in diameter, that would refract rainbows and restore soil on land affected by nuclear testing.

A ceramic work inspired by memories of the Potala Palace and the sky-burial rituals of the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau, calling for harmony between humans and nature.

Lynette Liang《
A diptych by an artist who moved from law to art, its entangled, looping lines rendering the unseen effort behind a life's transformation.
Mottled patches of color depict drifting rain and mist, recording the feelings and perceptions that quietly accumulate in daily repetition.

Allie Phillips
Two figure sketches on paper. With swift, precise strokes they capture the body's dynamics and center of gravity, drawn from the artist's long life-drawing practice — the tension and release of the body in momentary poses set side by side.

Allie Phillips
Isabelle Bergmann
Typewriter text works. Characters struck by machine build a visual order of language — the arrangement, dislocation, and density of the letters themselves compose the image, returning writing to a material act.
